All aboard, setting sail to FABELHAIN!

Characters — especially those with an original design — gain far more soul and depth when they are part of a compelling story and a living, breathing world.

When we created Laura Laffy and Pandora, building that world was one of the very first things we focused on.

With Fabelhain, we wanted to create a setting that feels both familiar and fantastical:

a classic isekai-inspired world shaped by medieval kingdoms, magical artefacts, and ancient powers, while drawing inspiration from real-world myths, legends, and history. At the heart of this world lie three realms inspired by Norse mythology: the divine Götterlande, the mortal Mittelwelt, and the dark Unterlande — a fragile balance of light, neutrality, and shadow.

While the rulers of Götterlande and Unterlande constantly struggle for influence over Mittelwelt and its many human kingdoms, ordinary people simply try to live their lives amidst the chaos of greater powers. One of them is Laura.

Laura lives a humble life in the city of Ludwigs Castle. After the early death of her father, she remained behind with her gravely ill mother while her brother left their hometown long ago. Determined to help those around her, Laura became an apprentice to the local apothecary, where she discovered her passion for alchemy and the healing arts.

Despite her cheerful and kind-hearted nature, Laura possesses a sharp and calculating mind that is not easily deceived. She follows a strong moral compass, though she is willing to bend the rules if it means protecting the people she loves.

Her fate changes forever during a battle between the forces of Götterlande and Unterlande. Pandora — a mythical artefact wielded as a weapon by the ruler of Unterlande — is struck from the skies during combat and crashes deep within the forests of Mittelwelt, near Ludwigs Castle, the place where Laura is gathering herbs for the apothecary.

Drawn to the impact site, Laura encounters Pandora for the very first time.

But Pandora is no ordinary relic.

Within the mysterious “box” resides a sentient soul: immortal, cunning, playful, and endlessly hungry for amusement after centuries of existence. Sensing something extraordinary within Laura, Pandora decides to stay by her side — a decision that binds their fates together from that moment onward.

What begins as a chance encounter soon becomes a dangerous journey between hope and temptation. As Laura learns to wield Pandora’s immense power for the good of others, she must constantly resist the seductive influence hidden within the artefact itself — or risk being consumed by it.

Fabelhain is ultimately meant to be a fantastical “What If?” version of our own world: a place where myths are real, ancient legends shape entire kingdoms, and every forgotten story may still hide a grain of truth.
