Let us give a bit of insight into the process
Bringing Our First Original Anime Figure to Life
Over the last months, we have been working on something very special to us: our very first original anime figure.
Before starting this journey, we already appreciated anime figures as collectors and fans. But actually being involved in the creation process ourselves gave us a completely new perspective on how much creativity, communication, and craftsmanship goes into bringing an original character to life.
We wanted to share a little bit of that experience with you.
Not as a studio with decades of history behind us, but as a team experiencing many of these steps for the first time — learning, improving, and genuinely enjoying the creative process along the way.
Every Character Starts as an Idea
At the beginning, everything is surprisingly open.
A character usually does not appear fully finished from the start. Instead, it begins with smaller ideas:
a certain mood,
visual inspirations,
personality traits,
clothing concepts,
colors,
poses,
or even just a feeling we want the character to convey.
One of the most interesting parts of the process has been seeing how these early ideas slowly evolve into something more complete.
Even small adjustments can completely change how a character feels. A different hairstyle, a slightly altered expression, or a new pose can suddenly make the design click in a way it did not before.
That exploration phase has been both exciting and rewarding for us, because every iteration helps the character become more defined and more alive.
Seeing the First Sketches Was a Huge Moment
One of the most memorable moments during development was receiving the first sketches from artists we collaborated with.
That was the point where the character truly started feeling real.
It was also where we gained a deeper appreciation for how much skill experienced artists bring into the process. Translating an idea into strong visual design requires far more than simply “drawing a character.” Artists constantly make creative decisions that improve flow, personality, balance, and visual storytelling.
Working together with talented illustrators has honestly been one of the highlights of this experience.
There were many moments where an artist added a detail or suggested a small design change that elevated the entire concept beyond what we originally imagined.
That collaborative aspect has been incredibly inspiring to see firsthand.
Finding the Right Creative Partners
As newcomers to original figure production, one thing we quickly realized is how important it is to find artists and sculptors whose creative vision aligns with the project.
Every artist has their own strengths and style. Some excel at expressive characters, others at intricate costume details, and others at dynamic compositions.
The same applies to sculptors.
Part of the journey has been learning how to communicate ideas clearly while also giving talented creators room to contribute their own expertise and creativity. And honestly, that balance has made the entire process much more enjoyable than we expected.
Rather than feeling like isolated steps, the project gradually became a collaboration between people who are all passionate about creating something special.
The Transition From 2D to 3D Is Fascinating
One stage we found especially interesting was the transition from 2D artwork into 3D sculpting.
As fans, it is easy to look at a finished figure and not fully realize how much interpretation is involved in that step.
A character that looks fantastic in an illustration still needs to work as a full three-dimensional object from every angle. Hair, clothing, posture, proportions, and movement all need to feel natural in physical form.
Watching experienced sculptors transform flat artwork into a real 3D model has been genuinely impressive.
There is a unique kind of creativity involved in taking a drawing and understanding how it should exist physically while still preserving the original feeling and personality of the character.
That process gave us an even greater appreciation for figure sculpting as its own art form.
Creativity and Craftsmanship Are at the Center of Everything
One thing this journey continuously reminds us is how much anime figures depend on human creativity and craftsmanship.
Every stage involves people with highly specialized artistic skills:
illustrators,
sculptors,
painters,
and many others behind the scenes.
It has been exciting to work alongside people who are so passionate about their craft and who put genuine care into even the smallest details.
As a startup preparing its first figure, being part of this creative environment has been both motivating and educational for us.
And it also reinforced something we strongly believe: human creativity, artistic instinct, and collaboration will always matter.
Still Early in the Journey — and Excited for What Comes Next
We are still at the beginning of this journey, and there is still a lot for us to learn and experience moving forward.
But that is also part of what makes this process exciting.
Every stage has brought new insights, new ideas, and a growing appreciation for the amount of work behind original figure creation. While there are definitely challenges involved, they are also the kind of challenges that make creative projects rewarding in the first place.
Seeing a concept slowly evolve into an actual figure has been an amazing experience so far, and we are incredibly excited to continue sharing that journey with all of you.
More Than Just a Figure
At the end of the day, we do not want people to only see the finished product.
We also want to share the creative process behind it: the early ideas, the sketches, the sculpting, the collaboration, and the many talented people involved in making it all possible.
Because now that we are experiencing it ourselves, we understand even more why anime figures feel special to so many collectors.
They are not just products on a shelf.
They are the result of imagination, craftsmanship, and passionate people working together to turn an idea into something real.
And for us, being able to take our first steps into that world has been an incredibly rewarding experience already.
